How to reset Internet Explorer if you cant open Internet Explorer

Problem: IE is broken, not working, crashing, etc.  You want to reset IE but it will not allow you to do it the traditional way.

Try this:

Close all applications / windows

Click Start > Run and type: inetcpl.cpl > hit enter

This should open the IE Options windows with all its tabs and settings.

If you use Vista/Win7 just type: inetcpl.cpl into the search box right above the start button
